First edition (it was reprinted in the collection Delle orationi recitate a Principi di Venetia nella loro creatione dagli ambasciadori di diverse città edited by F. Sansovino in 1562) of this oration in which the author, on behalf of the city of Belluno, celebrates the election of Marcantonio Trevisan (1475-1554) as new doge of Venice in 1553. The oration also praises Venice and its history. Novello is the author of another oration addressed to his hometown of Belluno, published in Venice in 1557.
