First modern and first available edition, on which all subsequent editions are based. It opens with an ‘avertissement' and reprints the famous short poem on Venetian prostitutes, written in tercets and published in Venice in 1535 (the original of which is now lost), alongside a French translation. The author of the poem is unknown, but it has been attributed to various people, including Aretino, Franco and Venier, and more recently to the Paduan jurist Antonio Cavallino (cf. D. Romei, Nota al testo, in: “La tariffa delle puttane di Venegia”, Nuovo Rinascimento, 2020, pp. 64-66).
