Folio (310x208 mm). [6], CLI leaves. Collation: +6 A-T8. Lacking the final blank. Title page printed in red and black within a woodcut border. Woodcut initials and 15 woodcut vignettes in text. Contemporary blind-tooled half calf over wooden boards, traces of clasps (worm holes, some losses, spine restored). Title page partly detached with a restoration to the gutter that slightly affects the border, worm holes at the beginning and at the end of the volume, some browning and staining.

 

Nice illustrated edition of Sallust, containing the De coniuratione Catilinae with the commentary by Lorenzo Valla, Ognibene Bonisoli and Josse Bade, and the De bello Iugurthino with the commentary by Pomponius Leto. The illustrations are taken from the Tacuino edition of 19 May 1511 (cf. Essling, 47).
