Woodcut initials and 60 woodcut vignettes in text (partly repeated). Text printed in two columns. 18th-century vellum over boards, spine in compartments with lettering piece, sprinkled edges. On the front pastedown armorial bookplate, inked-out ownership's entry on title page. Some marginal staining, worm track to the blank margin of a few leaves, a very good, genuine copy.

 

Illustrated edition of Virgil's complete works accompanied by Elio Donato's Life of Virgil and the commentaries by Josse Bade, Francesco Campana, Giacomo Dalla Croce, Juan Luis Vives, Ludovico Ricchieri and Lucio Giovanni Scoppa.
