Dedicated by Ignazio Garbesi to his wife Rosa Garbesi, who was also his cousin: he compiled five poems for her, including odes, hymns, and short poems. Among the authors from Lucca are Giovanni Betti, Captain Ippolito Zibibbi, Carlo Giannini, Garbesi himself, and in particular Costanza Moscheni, a well-known poetess who is also introduced as a friend of the bride. She was the author of the epic poem Castruccio, for which she won the gold medal from the Academy of Lucca, and she declined a teaching position at the Royal Institute of Education in Naples, preferring instead a similar offer made to her in Milan. She later returned to Lucca to care for her ailing father, and after his death, she was chosen by the Grand Duchess of Tuscany to teach at the Royal Girls' School in Florence, which the Grand Duchess had founded.
