8vo (202x124 mm). Engraved title page, [40], 748, [120] pp. Typographic title printed in red and black with the printer's device in the center. Engraved title page signed by H. van der My e F.v. Bleyswyk, already usded by Samuel Luchtmans in 1744. The final leaf contains the list of the Auctores classici, Graeci et Latini in Officina Luchtmanniana. Contemporary prize binding in gilt vellum over boards bearing the arms of the city of Amsterdam on the panels, marbled edges (traces of silk ties, light stain on the front panel, arms on the back panel partly rubbed). Some foxing, but a nice genuine copy.

Second enlarged and corrected edition (first 1719) of Velleius Paterculus' Historiae Romanae with the commentary by the Dutch scholar Pieter Burman.
