This is an important and detailed Naples artillery regulation, drawn under the command of John Acton, who was entrusted with the reorganization of both the navy and the army of the Kingdom. Acton was Minister of the Navy and Secretary of State of Naples under Ferdinand IV, from 1789 to 1804. These regulations remained in force until the arrival of Napoleon on the throne of Naples (cf. F. Caputo, I cannoni del Regno delle Due Sicilie, Naples, 2007).
